Stewardship Report

Reflecting Generosity

“As 2022–2023 comes to a close, I am humbled and grateful as I reflect on God’s goodness to Open Door Christian Schools (ODCS) this year—record enrollment, generous financial gifts, new academic programs, building projects completed, and many other good gifts from the Lord. Yet I am most thankful for how God is working in students’ hearts every day, preparing them for Gospel impact wherever He leads them.”

Denver Daniel, ODCS President

Equipping Disciples

As we endeavor to equip disciples through exemplary education, we aim for every student to integrate their faith and competencies to pursue, persist, and promote Christ in their vocation. This mission is why, as a partner with families, we saturate our instruction in a biblical worldview — resulting in over 200,000 hours of Bible instruction each school year.

Transforming Lives

As a faithful champion for our ministry, you recognize that providing an exemplary, Christ-centered education requires outside resources. Your partnership lies at the heart of our success.

Through your selfless contributions, we have offered vital tuition assistance, allowing for record growth in mission-true families from all socio-economic backgrounds. These families have realized the transformative power of generosity and the expansion of opportunities for their students to grow and thrive within our school community.

Developing Gifts

Our mission-true staff focuses on educating the whole student: spiritually, academically, athletically, artistically, and in service. We are passionate about partnering with the family and the local church to love, serve, and prepare students for their “next.”

As believers, our faculty invests in students’ lives to motivate their spiritual growth and provides opportunities for students to discover and deploy their unique, God-given talents to honor Him. For unsaved students, we seek to inspire them to accept God’s gift of salvation through Jesus Christ.

Because an ODCS education must be exemplary in all facets, we must attract, develop, generously compensate, and retain excellent teachers and coaches. Your gifts help us towards achieving our goal of being at or above 75% of the county average for educator compensation.

From the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards program to dramatic productions, our students are positively impacting our culture for Christ using their artistic abilities. Our 2023 Valor Awards celebrated a year of athletic excellence across 15 high school sports, and our first Women’s Sports Conference emphasized the importance of mentality, mentorship, and motivation for female athletes competing at the highest level.

Enhancing Potential

As our student body has increased, so has our need to expand and develop our campus. Your gifts of time, talent, treasure, and trust have made possible numerous property, classroom, and athletic facility enhancements over the years.

But that was just the beginning! In July, the Lord provided a pathway for ODCS to purchase the 30+ acre campus the school is situated on.

Also, we expect recent changes to the State of Ohio’s EdChoice voucher program and the introduction of the Scholarship Granting Organization Tax Credit (SGO) to allow us to direct the bulk of your generous donations to teacher quality and property improvements.

These blessings bring new excitement, growth potential, and a chance to reimagine the future of ODCS!

Building Vision

I do it all for the sake of the gospel, that I may share with them in its blessings.

1 Corinthians 9:23

For over forty-six years, we have partnered with families in providing an education that is comprehensive, rigorous, relevant, and firmly cemented in a biblical worldview — all in an environment where each student is known, appreciated, and mentored by Christian staff. We commit to preparing our students for the “next” of their lives. Our nearly 2,000 alumni testify to this dedication, as many are now partnering with ODCS to educate their children.

Campus ownership and growing enrollment have provided an opportunity to ask the Lord how to steward these blessings most efficiently. What programs should exist? Which people should we employ? What physical spaces should we design or reinvent to meet the needs and challenges of the future? We humbly ask you to continue walking alongside us while we seek God’s will for ODCS.

Expressing Gratitude

Thank you for generously investing your time, talents, treasure, and trust in the ministry of ODCS! Through your partnership, our students become disciples who practice justice, mercy, and faithfulness — as defined by God in His word — in their school experience and beyond.
